That Pitch Was A Gift...
Adam Greenberg and Ben Biddick's New Book "Get Up: The Art of Perseverance
On July 9th, 2005, no one suspected the triumph of Adam Greenberg's first major-league plate appearance with the Chicago Cubs would be obliterated by an errant 92 mile-an-hour first-pitch fastball. He didn’t know it at the time, but that pitch was a gift. Now he offers his story of overcoming adversity and persevering through challenges in hopes of helping you pursue your dreams in life.

"I have to say this. This is the first time I've done an interview, and I cried. So thank you for reminding me Number One--who I am because I'm not afraid to admit that but--giving me the opportunity to remember everything I've accomplished ... thank you, thank you so much. I wish you amazing success."
-Cappie Pondexter, WNBA Legend
"To me personally going to the VA and sitting down with somebody who has been to Vietnam or Korea and just spend some time with them and ask them what American used to like...or what their experiences in combat were like... Those things are a national treasure. It's almost addictive to me to keep going to the VA and spend some time with these veterans. Thanks, Ben."
-Alejandro Villanueva Pro-Bowl Starting Left Tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers
"Being a woman I know that I immediately have to fight a little bit harder for anything I want professionally. Being a Latina means I need to work even harder than just being a woman, and so knowing that I'm doing something not just for me but for any Latina who comes after me or maybe even a contemporary Latina...that fuels me. Knowing that we've come far, and we still have a long journey ahead of us...this was such a pleasure, thank you so much. I really appreciate it, Ben."
-Marysol Castro, the first female Latina PA Announcer for the New York Mets and Creator & Host of www.somosonair.com
Ben Biddick is not only an amazing human being, but he is an incredible father, husband, and now friend. Many months ago, Ben made a commitment to telling my life's story in a book we were writing together. Ben's dedication to the project is unparalleled. Ben's writing style was also perfect to help bring my story to life. That was the most important thing to him, making me happy and proud. No matter how many edits, or changes needed to be made, Ben made himself available and passionate through the finish line. I cannot say enough how proud I am for what we accomplished together. Introducing Ben to the most important people that have impacted my life was never a concern during the interview process. Ben handles himself with the same pride and dignity that he has served our country with in respecting my life and the relationships in my life. I'm proud to call Ben a member of my family.
-Adam Greenberg, former Major League Baseball player and CEO of www.lurongliving.com
